Draft Plastics Innovation Challenge Roadmap presented by US Department of Energy

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released the Plastics Innovation Challenge Draft Roadmap, a comprehensive program that aims to make domestic processing of plastic waste economically viable and energy-efficient, develop new and improved materials lacking similar end-of-life concerns as incumbent materials, and ultimately reduce plastic waste accumulation. Amongst the strategic goals are the development of technologies to turn waste into valuable materials and the development of renewable plastics and other materials that have similar properties as traditional plastics.

DOE also released a request for information seeking stakeholder input on the Draft Roadmap. More information on the Draft Roadmap can be found on the Plastics Innovation Challenge website.
