New Collaboration: Paques Biomaterials and Senbis Polymer

Paques Biomaterials and Senbis Polymer Innovations have entered into a strategic collaboration aimed at developing new applications for a groundbreaking biopolymer that offers all the advantages of plastic without the drawbacks. For over 10 years, Paques Biomaterials has been working on a novel process in which bacteria in organic waste streams produce the biopolymer PHA. "Our background lies in biotechnology," says Joost Paques, founder of Paques Biomaterials, "and through this collaboration, we are combining biotechnology and chemistry, which is a winning formula for creating a biopolymer like the one we envision. We are confident that we will soon produce a high-quality alternative to fossil-based plastics that can be widely applied and help prevent microplastic pollution."
